On March 25, 2025, two IER students earned their doctoral degrees, while two others received their master’s degrees.
From the Major in Environmental Radioactivity of Graduate School of Symbiotic Systems Science and Technology, KUROSAWA Honoka of the Wakiyama Laboratory and Rashedul Islam RIPON of the Rahman Laboratory have completed their doctoral programs. Kurosawa and Ripon are the first students in this program to earn doctorate degrees. In addition, SHOJI Nobutoshi from the Wakiyama Laboratory and KODAMA Fuya from the Wada Laboratory have completed their master’s programs and earn master’s degrees. The titles of their theses are as follows:
- KUROSAWA Honoka: Study on 137Cs dynamics in ponds affected by the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident
- Rashedul Islam RIPON: Development and application of a new macrocyclic ligand-functionalized mesoporous silica sorbent for selective separation of radiocesium and radiostrontium from contaminated water
- SHOJI Nobutoshi: Impacts of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear accident, explored with the data of land transaction in Fukushima prefecture
- KODAMA Fuya: Seasonal variations in 137Cs concentrations and habitat conditions of fish in the Ukedo River system.
