March 25, 2024, Four IER students earned their master’s degrees.

From the Major in Environmental Radioactivity of Graduate School of Symbiotic Systems Science and Technology, the following students have successfully completed their master’s degree programs: SATOH Shun from the Takata Laboratory, MANOME Yuki, YAMAGUCHI Daisuke from the Wada Laboratory, and YANAGIGAWA Kento from the Tsukada Laboratory. The research topics of these graduates who earned their master’s degrees this time are as follows:

  • SATOH Shun: Estimation of Cs-137 fluxes into the ocean
  • MANOME Yuki: Elucidation of radiocesium contamination mechanisms in fish using euryhaline fish as a model
  • YAMAGUCHI Daisuke: Distribution and seasonality of 137Cs activity in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in the difficult-to-return zone
  • YANAGIGAWA Kento: Temporal change of 137Cs fractions in archived soil samples collected from Fukushima Prefecture in 2011

Furthermore, MANOME Yuki received the President’s Award for her outstanding research achievements.
