Bamboo sample has been registered as PT sample by IAEA.
University of Tsukuba and Fukushima University jointly collected and crushed bamboo (about 400kg) donated by Shosai-ji Temple in Namie Town in 2021, which was finally adjusted by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) as a reference material and has now been registered as a PT (Proficiency Test) sample by the IAEA.
This is part of “Collaboration in the development of new IAEA reference materials for radionuclides in environmental matrices” described in “1. Scope of Cooperation” of the Practical Arrangements signed between IAEA and IER.
